…two “catch me up” sets of October Daye paperbacks, each containing Night and Silence and The Brightest Fell.

Hello, lovely people and terrifying couch gremlins, and welcome to the Thirteen Days of Hogswatch, the game where the points are made up but the rules really do matter.  Continuing for the next seven days, I will be posting a daily giveaway to help us all celebrate the festive winter spirit.  Here are a few things you should know:

1. Every post will have its own prize, and its own rules.  This is to filter out people linked here from the “hey, free stuff!” blogs, who are less interested in our prizes than they are in the fact that they don’t cost anything.

2. Unclaimed prizes will not be redistributed, they will be returned to my office to think about what they did.

3. I cannot afford international postage.  If you are outside the US/Canada, you must state your willingness to pay postage in your entry.

4. All posts automatically mirror to Dreamwidth.  For RNG reasons, comments left on Dreamwidth do not count as entries; you must enter via the root post on my blog if you want to be eligible to win.

So here.  We.  GO!

Our seventh prize this year is two sets of Night and Silence and The Brightest Fell.  To enter:

1. Comment on this  post.

2. What’s the best movie you saw in 2019?

3. If you are outside the US/Canada, verify your willingness to pay postage.

All winners will be selected at 12PT on December 14th.  So now, as the sages say…

…GAME ON!

Because you are all wonderful people, some angel donors have pitched in to pay postage and make it possible to offer a few bonus books this Hogswatch season.  These are being offered up specifically as hardship giveaways, IE, please don’t enter if you COULD afford to buy the books yourself, but have chosen not to do so for whatever reason.  Obviously I have no way of verifying this, but the Great Pumpkin is watching you, and you wouldn’t want to disappoint His Roundness, would you?

Also because this is a hardship giveaway being funded by donated postage, I’m afraid it is US-only.  I can’t afford international postage without cutting the number of planned giveaways by about 75%, and asking people to pay to ship books they couldn’t afford to buy seems cruel.

Our first giveaway is for two copies of Night and Silence in hardcover.  Two winners will be chosen at 12PST on December 14th.  The rules…

1. US-only.

2. To enter, comment here.

3. To filter out the free stuff blogs, tell me what you want for Hogswatch.

Game on!

Well, Night and Silence has made its glorious appearance unto the world, and now’s the time for people to talk about it!  If they want to, anyway.  Here is a nice, centralized discussion post for y’all: THERE WILL BE SPOILERS, assuming anyone wanders over here to discuss the situation.

Have fun!

Every month I make a post to tell folks what I'm working on, a) because it seems polite, b) because it keeps me accountable, if only to myself, and c) so you will understand why I do not have a social life. This is the June 2016 post. As threatened last month, I am posting from New York, while back in California, my world vanishes into a moving truck. See you in July, from Washington state, and my new home.

To quote myself, being too harried to say something new: "These posts are labeled with the month and year, in case somebody eventually gets the bizarre urge to timeline my work cycles (it'll probably be me). Behold the proof that I don't actually sleep; I just whimper and keep writing."

Please note that all books currently in print are off the list, as are those that have been turned in but not yet printed (RISE, Feedback, Once Broken Faith, Magic For Nothing). The Nativity of Chance, "Down Among the Sticks and Bones," "Beneath the Sugar Sky," and The Brightest Fell are off the list because they're finished and in revisions with the Machete Squad. The cut-tag is here to stay, because no matter what I do, it seems like this list just keeps on getting longer. But that's okay, because at least it means I'm never actively bored. I have horror movies and terrible things from the swamp to keep me company.

Not everything on this list has been sold. I will not discuss the sale status of anything which has not been publicly announced. If you can't remember whether I've announced something, check the relevant tag, or go to my website, at www.seananmcguire.com. Please do not ask why project X is no longer on the list. I will not answer you.

This is the May 2016 post. Next month's post (June 2016) will be made from a different time zone, while back home in California, my mother is tearing down the last of my life in the Bay Area and stuffing it into a moving truck.

Life is terrifying.
