So I’m going to be the Subterranean Press special guest at ConFusion 2020 in Detroit, Michigan, January 16-19.  Those of you who’ve been following me on Twitter may have already done the math and realized that this is smack in the middle of my post-oral surgery liquid diet.  I am going to be a delight.

Anyway, I have my schedule!  It’s…

Friday, 4pm, the Business of Comics Writing for Prose Writers.  Comics creators and prose fiction writers have always been creative neighbors. But the comics and prose-fiction industries are completely different worlds, with entirely different publication processes and industry norms. Our panel of writers who’ve done both talk about how these industry differences work from a writer’s perspective: what professional norms do prose writers need to keep in mind to be successful in comics?

Friday, 6pm, Ready, Set, Flash!  Join Lee Harris for a flash improv panel! Authors will be given five minutes to write a flash piece to a prompt, then will share their work with the audience. Then you do it again with a new prompt until the panel is out of time.

Friday, 7pm, Opening Ceremonies.  Welcome to How to Train Your ConFusion! Please join our Conchair, Lithie Dubois, and our Guests of Honor, Kameron Hurley, Julie Lesnik, Brandon O’Brien, and Bogi Takács, along with our Subterranean Press Special Guests, Seanan McGuire, and Gwenda Bond! Hear about all of the exciting stuff you can expect from them, from us, and this weekend.

Saturday, 11am, Worldbuilding Your Zombie Plague.  Many works of zombie fiction feature plague as the source of the zombie threat–but the specifics can vary widely. What are the zombie plague’s specific properties, how does it spread through populations, and what’s it’s method of action in the host body? Come join our panel of zombie experts to learn how these details can impact the plot and worldbuilding of zombie stories.

Saturday, 3pm, Mass Autographing Session.

Sunday, 3pm, Closing Ceremonies.  Come say goodbye to our Guests of Honor and Subterranean Special Guests, and learn which 2021 Guests of Honor announcements we will be sharing with you!

seanan_mcguire: (Default)

The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and I have my Worldcon schedule!

Thursday.

Graphic novels in YA.  6pm, Wicklow Hall 2B.  Comics targeting YA audiences are increasingly popular, often challenging assumptions about who reads comics and what they want to read. Some YA comics are also featuring more diverse voices, as creators and characters. What does this success say about the comics market? Can YA comics offer writers more opportunities? And what are the must-read YA graphic stories?

Friday.

Autographing, noon, level 4 foyer.

Kaffeeklatsch.  1pm, level 3 foyer.

Saturday.

Just a Minute, noon, Second Stage.  From the BBC panel game, in which the contestants are challenged to speak for one minute without hesitation, deviation, or repetition on any subject that comes up on the cards. An opposing contestant can challenge based on alleged violations of any of the rules, with byplay often ensuing. The fast-talking fun swings from silly to cutthroat as contestants try to win their points in a hilariously high-pressure competition.

Remember when we did this at Reno, and I discovered lists?  http://www.scififx.com/2011/08/paul-cornell-hosts-just-a-minute-at-worldcon/

Window to the Soul: A Character’s Favorite Song.  2pm, Wicklow Room-4.  Creators often use a character’s musical choices to show us their inner thoughts and hidden motivations: in Guardians of the Galaxy the music Peter plays is a link to his lost mother, in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Miles’s favourite song places him as a member of Generation Z, and Alex’s callous rendition of ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ in A Clockwork Orange has gone down in infamy. Join our panellists for a walk through our favourite characters’ musical memories.

Into the Woods.  4pm, Wicklow Hall-1.  From Little Red Riding Hood’s forests to Annihilation’s eldritch funghi, nature and plants have been a powerful force in fiction from historical fairy tales to far-future hydroponics. How have forests shaped fiction, and how has the use of nature in fiction changed over time? What do we love – or hate – about leaves?

Sunday.

Down the Rabbit Hole: the Appeal of Portal Fantasy.  10am, Liffey Room-2.  In portal fantasies people are transported from our world to another, which allows the reader to learn about this new world at the same time as the protagonist. What is the appeal of portal versus secondary world fantasies? Why are portal fantasies so often written for children and teens rather than adult readers? The panel will discuss the appeal of portal fantasy and its place in the fantasy genre.

The Hugo Awards.  8pm.  Come see me eat my own fingers in soul-shrinking terror of my nerd test results!

It’s almost time to return to San Diego!  So where can you find me?

Wednesday.

I will be at Preview Night!  I will be frantically shopping, like everyone else, and pin-trading at the Marvel booth for as long as security lets me.  No official programming, always happy to say hello.

Thursday.

10am.  Magic x Mayhem in SF&F.  Room 28DE.  This year’s Tor panel is going to be a hoot and a half!  Come see us hoot and holler at each other like barely contained zoo animals.

11:30am.  Signing.  Autograph area AA09.  I will sign anything I wrote during this session.  Books, comics, whatever.  No checks or babies.

1:00pm.  Macmillan booth signing.  Booth 2701.  They usually have cool stuff at the booth signings.  Come find out what.

3:00pm.  Marvel booth signing.  Booth 2329.  Come see me sign Marvel comic books I wrote AT MARVEL!  Bucket list!

Friday.

10am.  The Future as I See It.  Room 23ABC.  Our moderator is hoping we’ll keep things upbeat, so come hear me talk about global slatewiper pandemics in a chipper, children’s-television-host tone.

11:30am.  Signing.  Autograph area AA06.  I will sign anything I wrote during this session.  Books, comics, whatever.  No checks or babies.

1:30pm.  Spider-Man!  Room 5AB.  Come ask insightful questions about Spider-Gwen and make me look good to my bosses!

4:30pm.  Geek Geek Revolution.  Room 8.  We’re gonna get our nerd on.

6pm.  Signing.  Autograph area AA09.  I will sign anything I wrote during this session.  Books, comics, whatever.  No checks or babies.

Saturday.

12pm.  Penguin booth signing.  Booth 1515.  Again, cool stuff at the booth signings.  This is a ticketed event; pick up your ticket fifteen minutes before we start.

5pm.  Writing: Craft, Crossover, and Community.  Room 23ABC.  We’re gonna get our craft geek on!

Sunday.

1:15pm.  The Pull List.  Booth 2329.  Come see me talk about comics live on stage at the Marvel booth!

2pm.  Rebuilding and Reinventing the Modern Girl.  Grand 12/13, Marriott Marquis.  I get to sit with Sarah Kuhn!

…and then I go home.

If you find me throughout the weekend, remember that I carry prizes during con; check my Twitter for the day’s password.  Hope to see you there!

seanan_mcguire: (Default)

Somehow, Emerald City Comic Con is upon us again, and somehow, I have agreed to be there!  So where can you find me?  Well…

Thursday.

Unfettered: The Power of the SF&F Anthology.  2:45pm, WSCC611.  Come and listen to (hopefully) smart people say (presumably) smart things about science fiction and fantasy anthologies.  It’ll be fun!

Autographing.  4:00p, Writers Block Author Autographing, WSCCL6.  And then those same people will sign things.

Friday.

Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends.  1:30pm, TCC L3-R3.  I WRITE FOR MARVEL NOW DID YOU KNOW.  COME AND HEAR ME TALK ABOUT MARVEL.  BECAUSE I WRITE FOR THEM.

Worldbuilders Party.  7pm.  If you have a ticket, see you there?

Saturday.

Consent is Sexy: The Art and Importance of Putting Consent on the Page.  12:15pm, WSCC3A.  I trust my fellow panelists, I really do; this should be fascinating.

Autographing.  1:30pm, Writers Block Author Autographing, WSCCL6.  And if we fuck it up, here’s your chance to tell us so.

Jay and Miles X-Plain the X-Men, LIVE!  6:30pm, TCC L3-R3.  Being a part of this show is a literal dream come true.  Also Leah Williams and I are probably going to get sloshed live for your amusement.  Show up for the mutant menace, stay for the happy drunk Emma Frost fangirls.

Sunday.

Authors on the Best Advice I Ever Got.  11:00am, WSCC611.  I am gonna say some shit.  And then I’m going to stay right where I am for…

Fantasy in the Mix.  12:15pm, WSCC611.  Who needs to move?

Autographing.  1:30pm, Writers Block Author Autographing, WSCCL6.  This is your last chance to get me to scribble on your shit, at least for this year.  Come say hello!

I’ll be roving around throughout the convention, saying hi, running my usual scavenger hunts, and whimpering at the lack of Diet Dr Pepper inside the convention center.  Remember that my love is always for sale: feel free to want it.

See you there!

seanan_mcguire: (Default)

In fact, San Diego Comic-Con is almost here!  I’ll be rising bright and early on Wednesday morning (I have to be to the airport at 5am) to head to San Diego and let the fun begin!

But where can you find me?

Wednesday.

I will be a free-range creature!  Feel free to say hello if you see me on the floor; I will have trivia questions and fabulous prizes for the first few people to manage a successful intercept.

Thursday.

Come see me and a fabulous cast of thousands on the Fearless Women panel, at 3pm at the Horton Grand Theater.  Enjoy the fun and wonder of watching me and Victoria Schwab make faces at each other and pass notes like grade schoolers.  A signing will follow at 4:30pm in the autographing area (back in the main convention center).

Friday.

Once again, no one tells me where to go or what to do when I get there, except for, you know, the various interviews and meetings.  So if I look harried, that’s why.  Again, find me for fabulous prizes.

Saturday.

Catch me at the Penguin-Random House booth at 5pm to get amazing goodies signed and added to your collection!  Including The Girl in the Green Silk Gown comics (drawn by Britt Sabo) and some limited-edition dropcards with downloads of my Rose Marshall songs.

Sunday.

Come to Room 5AB at 11:15am to see a lifelong dream come true, as I appear on the one, the only, SDCC X-Men panel.  I still can’t believe this is happening.  No time to dilly or dally, however, since…

At 2pm, I’ll be signing at the Tor boothAmazing goodies will be handed out, and supplies are limited.  Moreso because by this point in the con, everyone is exhausted and just wants to go to bed.

I hope I’ll see you there!

seanan_mcguire: (Default)

It’s fall it’s fall it’s finally fall!  And as is so often the case around here, my fall is not just booked, it’s multi-volume seriesed.  I am about to start running and not stop for…well, way too long.  And so, since some of you may be asking, it’s time to play everybody’s favorite game…

WHERE’S SEANAN?

This coming weekend, from September 29th through October 1st, I will be at Archon, in scenic Collinsville, IL!  Come for the party, stay to watch me quest endlessly for cake.  I really like cake in Illinois, y’all.  It makes me happy.  (Also come for the rare thrill of seeing me give a short concert with a guitarist I have literally never met before.  This should be fascinating.)

In early October, from the 13th through the 15th, I will be at Another Anime Con, in lovely Manchester, New Hampshire!  Better yet, I will have my Shawn.  Ever wanted to see one of the funniest slice of life sitcoms not currently on television?  Come and watch us move through the world together.  We are a genuine delight.

In mid-October, from the 19th to the 22nd, I will be at the Ohio Valley Filk Festival, in glorious Worthington, Ohio, where I have the rare and delightful honor of being the OVFF Guest of Honor.  We’ll be hitting a local haunted attraction on Thursday night, so wear your scare pants, and get ready for a good time!

Finally, in late October, Vixy and I will be fucking off to Disney World.  You know the best thing about Disney theme parks?  They let you pay in installment plans, and finish paying long, long before anything happens (like, say, your cat needing emergency surgery)…and they won’t give the money back, which means you have to go on your much-needed vacation no matter what, since otherwise, you’re just wasting your pennies.  We’ll be gone from the 23rd to the 31st.  During our absence, email sent via the website will probably not get forwarded to me (Vixy’s job), but that’s okay, as I wouldn’t be answering it anyway.

Where’s Seanan?

EVERYWHERE.

seanan_mcguire: (Default)

First, a…well, a disclaimer, if you will.  Some of you may be aware that Alice (my eight-year-old Maine Coon) is not doing very well.  I am thus more than a bit of a mess, and while I will still be attending the San Diego International Comic Convention (SDCC) this year, I may miss any specific program item with little notice.  You have my sincere apologies for this fact.  I wish things were different.

Onward.

Wednesday.

I will be roving the floor on Preview Night, and may have prizes for those who find me early!

Thursday.

Sixty Seconds with SFF Authors, 1:30pm, Horton Grand Theater.  Come see Paul Cornell try desperately to herd cats through this comic game of never shutting up.  Signing to follow.

Friday.

Signing, California Browncoats, 2pm.

Signing, Penguin Random House booth, 5pm.  (Also swing by the booth for totally awesome and unique Toby Daye collectable boxes.  They’re for sale, and they’re awesome.)

Saturday.

Signing, Penguin Random House booth, 2pm.

Sunday.

How to Create Your Own Novel, 10:30am, Room 8.  I get to sit on a panel with David Gerrold.  Let’s see if I vibrate myself to death.  Signing to follow.

Fantasy Novels, 12:30pm, Room 8.  I live here today.  Signing to follow.

The Alien-Predator Expanded Universe, Room 5AB.  …and now I’m on a panel with Alan Dean Foster, I can die happy.  Signing to follow.  Then sleep.  Glorious sleep.

See you in San Diego!

seanan_mcguire: (me)
So I am utterly delighted to be returning to Borderlands Books in San Francisco, California this coming Saturday, March 25th, where I will be celebrating the release of Magic For Nothing alongside the fabulous Mishell Baker, who is celebrating the release of Phantom Pains. In my case, that's the new InCryptid; in her case, it's the new Arcadia Project; in both cases, it's guaranteed to be a good time.

With two authors and double the word-y goodness, we're not bringing the full band this event (also, we accidentally scheduled it on top of Consonance, which means most of the band is busy anyway). We will have a raffle, and if the cupcake place gets back to me, we'll have cupcakes (no answer as yet). On the off chance that we don't, remember that the cafe sells delicious baked goods, and would be happy to hook you up with something yummy.

The event will begin at 5pm. If you can't make it, please contact the bookstore ahead of time to place an order for a signed, personalized book: we're happy to hook you up. I'm collecting raffle prizes and packing my bags, and I can't wait to see you all!

TWO NEBULA NOMINEES ENTER. TWO NEBULA NOMINEES LEAVE. IT TURNS OUT THIS IS NOT A DEATH MATCH.

Roll on San Francisco!
seanan_mcguire: (me)
It's almost time: this weekend I will be a guest at the one and only (and sadly final) AnomalyCon in Denver, Colorado. I...keep swearing I'll never go back to Denver, on account of how I get blazingly terrible altitude sickness, and then I keep going back because people ask nicely. But this still could be the last time!

Where will I be?

Friday, catch me at "Reinventing the Wheelchair" at 6pm in Mesa Verde C, or at "Sex in Young Adult Fiction" at 7pm in Windstar A.

Saturday, find me at "Submitting to the Process" at 10am in Wind River B, "Future Accessibility" at 11am in Windstar A, "Writing Villains" at 6pm in Mesa Verde A, or at "Hell Hath No Fury" at 7pm in Wind River A.

There might be additions to my schedule, so check your program book (and don't ask here, as I have no guarantee about how much internet access I'll have). And of course I'll be signing and smiling and looking faintly confused by the lack of oxygen all weekend long.

Come on down!
seanan_mcguire: (me)
This weekend (by which we mean "Thursday through Sunday," because the weekend is a negotiable time period, and doesn't Thursday look fetching in that tiara?) you can catch me at Emerald City Comic-Con in scenic Seattle, Washington! Join me for thrills, chills, and a smashing good time!

BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE.

Thursday night, come catch me a Shipwreck, where six great authors destroy one great work of literature. We're doing The Sandman. And I do mean doing. This is not an all-ages event. This is porn. I am a porn lord. Endless help me.

Friday, I'll be signing at the University Books booth (2pm) and the Penguin Random House booth (5pm), and then it's off to Worldbuilders for a fun night of gaming and merriment. Seats are limited but still available as I'm typing this!

Saturday, it's Geek Geek Revolution at 1:30pm and the Death of Belief at 4pm, both followed by signings.

Sunday, come see me at the University Books booth (1pm), and then at the Orbit Books panel (2:30pm). And then watch me run for freedom and the comforts of my own bed, because I expect to be exhausted.

I will have prizes with me every day of the con for folks who find me and answer the trivia questions I will be posting on Twitter. First-come, first-served.

See you there!
seanan_mcguire: (me)
I am in Iowa! I am enjoying the company of my adult friends, who are awesome, and their three-year-old, the Skeleton Girl, who is amazing. I am not the biggest fan of tiny humans, which is why I never elected to construct one of my own, but SG? Is the best tiny human. She's just amazing. I could play with her for hours. I have played with her for hours. So Iowa is awesome.

But! I came here for a con, and a con I shall have! This weekend in Cedar Rapids, the fun begins. Ain't no party like a corn state party, because in a corn state, I am at the height of my powers. BE AFRAID. BE VERY AFRAID.

Thursday.

Pre-con signing event, 6pm. Before the con gets started, a bunch of the attending authors will be signing at the Cedar Rapids Barnes & Noble! No membership required. We hope to see you there.

Friday.

DreamCon Introduction, 1pm. This special con-within-a-con for teens is aimed at teaching writing skills and improving understanding of the science fiction community.

DreamCon Community Building, 1:25pm.

DreamCon Ask Me Anything, 3:05pm.

Opening Ceremonies, 7pm. Let's get this party started!

Saturday.

Zombie Mania, 10am. Whee.

Flipping Fairy Tales, 2pm. Watch me throw things at Jim Hines for an hour while we pretend to be professionals!

Author/Artist Meet & Greet, 3pm. Way too early to start drinking.

GoH Interviews, 4pm. ...but maybe it's a really, really good idea anyway.

Round Robin, 9pm. Once upon a time, there was a girl named Seanan, and she stole her whole panel away to the corn...

Sunday.

In Conversation with Seanan, 11am. I have a moderator? So this is not really an In Conversation... so much as it is some sort of interview that I do not fully understand. There may be a mutiny.

Vogon Poetry/Bulwer-Lytton Contests, 2pm. Welp.

Closing Ceremonies, 3pm. Goodbye, everybody! See you in the corn!
seanan_mcguire: (indexing2)

Readers are encouraged to bring any books they wish to be signed as there will be a limited supply of giveaway copies.

If you're in or around New York, I hope to see you there!
seanan_mcguire: (me)
Because it is written in the stars that 2016 should be a month of near-constant travel, I am about to hop on yet another plane and soar off to New York, where I will do business, hug people, and oh yeah, appear at New York Comic-Con, the East Coast's Geek Prom.

So where can you find me? Other than staring longingly at the Marvel editorial team, trying to literally will them into hiring me to relaunch the X-Men?

Thursday.

Mira Grant signing, 2pm, Orbit Booth. I don't actually have booth numbers, but it will be listed in the program/exhibitor guide as either "Orbit" or "Hachette Books," and I will gleefully sign things for you. With my actual hand!

Friday.

Shipwreck, 8pm. This is a separately ticketed event, but believe me, you want to attend. Come and see several professional word people wreck a great book--in this case, The Princess Bride. Mara Wilson is our guest reader. This is also the launch for Loose Lips, the first ever Shipwreck collection. I wrote the introduction!

Saturday.

Scream Queens, 2pm, BookCon @ NYCC - 500 W 36th St. It's a Mira Grant panel, which means it's a party in a haunted house while the corn is closing in. Come for the fun, stay because we won't let you leave.

Signing, 3:15pm, BookCon @ NYCC 6th Floor autographing area. We will sign things, and probably not eat you.

Sunday.

Seanan McGuire signing, 2pm, Penguin booth. Again, I do not have booth numbers, but this one should be listed in the program book as "Penguin Random House." Come see me, and I'll congratulate you on surviving the convention!

It's time for bullet-point updates! Hooray!

* Tomorrow (Tuesday, June 21st) marks the release of RISE, the complete Newsflesh short fiction collection. This book gathers everything from "Everglades" through Please Do Not Taunt the Octopus, along with two never-before-published pieces, All the Pretty Little Horses and Coming to You Live. It's not intended as an introduction to the world--at least four of the novellas are post-the original trilogy, which makes them great whopping slices of spoiler--but I'm incredibly proud of this material, and over the moon about finally having a short fiction collection of my very own. I feel like Stephen King. It's pretty awesome.

* Today is the last day of the Unicorn Empire T-shirt pre-sale for their gorgeous Toby Daye design. Don't miss out!

* CrossingsCon is this weekend! The first ever Young Wizards fan convention, and I'm one of their guests of honor! I keep closing my eyes and remembering standing in my middle school library with So You Want to Be a Wizard in my hand, and I'll be honest: I feel like a wizard right now. In Life's name, and for Life's sake, I feel like a wizard. Because somehow, I have willed the adulthood I wanted into being, and for all that it's not perfect, it's the imperfection that makes it all seem real.

Everything is amazing.
seanan_mcguire: (me)
I will be at the Kinokuniya Books at 1073 Avenue of the Americas this coming Saturday from 3:00pm until we're done! The plan has me reading from Every Heart a Doorway before chatting merrily with whoever shows up, answering questions, and getting distracted by Pokemon.

I hope to see you there!
seanan_mcguire: (knives)
By this time tomorrow morning, I will be at the San Francisco International Airport, drinking overpriced airport beverages and waiting for my 8am flight to New York. I will have kissed my cats goodbye and walked through the Bay Area house for what will be, in many ways, the last time: when I get back from New York, the house will still be here, but everything I own will be gone, packed up and pulled down and shoved into the moving truck, already making its way up the coast.

From June 3rd to June 28th, I will be on the East Coast, doing business (numbers, numbers, math math math), doing pleasure (people who know how badly I need to be distracted from what's happening in California have made sure I will have many good distractions), doing appearances (I will be at the Manhattan Kinokuniya on June 11th; details are here: https://www.facebook.com/events/1547988148830559/ ), and doing conventions (CrossingsCon, in Newark, New Jersey, with my beloved Mark Oshiro).

Things I will not be doing: mailing stuff. All my stuff will be a) on the West Coast, and b) in a moving truck. Replying to email with anything resembling alacrity. Sleeping much, between "New York in June" and "did I mention people are touching all my stuff and my cats are very far away?". Breathing.

If you're in the New York area, I hope to get a chance to see you this trip (looking at you, The Swarm). If you're not, please be patient with me while I navigate what has been a huge and stressful endeavor, but which seems to be coming, finally, thankfully, to a blessed end.
seanan_mcguire: (me)
I'm off to Kansas City, and ConQuest! A city I've never been to before, and a con I've never been to before! It's an adventure! (Note, before the comments can start: no, I am not going to WorldCon this year. I'm moving instead. All conventions I am attending are listed here, in the inchworm girl posts, and on the front page of my website. So this is your only Kansas City chance to see me.)

Wanna know where to catch me? Well...

Friday.

The Making of a Great Hero/Heroine, 5:00pm. "Writers discuss what attributes successful heroes and heroines should and often have." This can't possibly end badly!

Opening Ceremonies, 7:00pm. Now, those of you who have seen me during one of these things, you know I have a good time. And since I'm sadly missing closing ceremonies due to the timing of my flight, you should try to make this.

Saturday.

Surviving the Apocalypse, 11:00am. "Listen to panelists come up with a plan for surviving an apocalypse be it zombie or other. You'll want to bring a notebook..." Note that I am much more likely to be the cause of the apocalypse.

How To Become A Published Author, 2:00pm. "Authors and editors discuss the road to success in publishing." Yup.

Autographing, 4:00pm. What it says on the tin!

Sunday.

The Worlds of Seanan McGuire, 10:00am. "Hugo-nominated editor Bryan Thomas Schmidt will discuss the works of Seanan McGuire with Seanan." They were smart and made sure this panel was being conducted by one of my editors, which means it's waaaaaaaay less likely that I set something on fire. Shucks.

I hope I get to see you there! I'll have ribbons!
seanan_mcguire: (me)
It's almost time for Marcon, Columbus, Ohio's own genre extravaganza! I'm their Author Guest of Honor this year...but where can you find me? Well.

Friday.

5:30PM, Union C: "Writing Non-Human Characters."

7:00PM, Union E: "You Got Your Song in My Book! You Got Your Book in My Song!"

Saturday.

1:00PM, Battelle South: Seanan McGuire in concert, featuring Dead Sexy! This is one of my favorite iterations of my ever-shifting backing band, and we are going to blow your socks off. Like, seriously, if you only come to one of my events this weekend, this should be the one.

5:30PM, Fairfield: "In Conversation With Seanan McGuire." It's the usual gig: you ask me questions and I will answer them, which means the quality of the event is entirely up to you. Show up, ask me stuff, and find out what kind of ridiculous reptile stories I'll tell while in the grips of an adrenaline crash after my concert.

Sunday.

11:30AM, Regency Ballroom: Autograph Session.

ISFIC will have copies of the new Velveteen book for sale, along with everything else they have to offer; we'll have CDs and some of the remaining T-shirt stock (rarities all!) at the concert merchandise table.

Hope to see you there!
seanan_mcguire: (sarah)
I will be appearing at Borderlands Books in San Francisco, California tomorrow at 6pm, to celebrate the release of Every Heart a Doorway! Le gasp!

I will have the last of the lovely promo postcards Tor.com did for the book, in case you missed them before; I will also have a special surprise reading that no one has heard before.

If you are unable to attend, remember that Borderlands does mail order, and would be happy to send you a signed (and even personalized, if you so desire) copy. They ship all over the world, and have very reasonable postage rates.

I hope to see you there!
seanan_mcguire: (me)
If you're in the San Francisco area and looking for an adventure, may I suggest you spend tomorrow night, Thursday, April 21st, at the downstairs room of the Armory Club, enjoying a delightful evening with Inside Storytime? Where else can you get me, Charlie Jane Anders, Daryl Gregory, and other people who I don't know but who are probably incredibly cool, all in the same place?

The event begins at 7:00pm at the Armory Club (1799 Mission St.). There is a five dollar cover. Come for the stories, stay because the building is surrounded by terrifying wasps the size of puppies and no one who goes outside comes back again.
