An administrative footnote.

When I do sales or giveaways through this blog, they are always only at the main blog.  Entries for the RNG must be submitted at the main blog; requests for purchases must be submitted at the main blog.  I am sorry if this was unclear.  The Dreamwidth mirror does not push updates, which is why this is a new post, but you cannot buy things from me through the Dreamwidth mirror.  Not today, not ever, unless very explicitly stated.

Is it possible to ensure that every Dreamwidth mirror post, or at least every Dreamwidth mirror post where it matters, links back to the matching blog post?

Dreamwidth doesn't do it automatically. About all you can do is see a post here, then go to this:

Which is not something people who are finding these posts as they show up on their Dreamwidth reading pages are necessarily going to remember. Thus my initial question.

.... as Seanan has said, she never runs contests/sales/giveaways through Dreamwidth. Therefore if you see a giveaway here. common sense says go check her main blog.

I am aware of this. That does not mean it is either intuitively obvious or easily remembered. As evidenced by the people who this footnote is in response to.

That also does not mean it is impossible or even difficult to add a link to the relevant blog post to each Dreamwidth post. I do not know nearly enough about the behind-the-scenes of the crossposter on either end to know whether it is easy, difficult, or impossible; this is why I asked the question.

I believe that the Dreamwidth crossposter adds source links by default.

I also believe that Seanan is not using the Dreamwidth crossposter, and therefore the burden is on her to add source links to the material she posts.
