The tenth episode of Indexing: Reflections is available today! This is your talkpost and discussion zone. There will be spoilers in the comments here. As always on talkposts, I have partial comment amnesty, and will not be responding to everything.
"Untold Truths" is hard to talk about in an unspoilery way, but wow, is it bringing us closer to the end. Only two episodes remain in this season. Shit's about to get vicious.

Date: 2015-12-15 11:31 pm (UTC)Because until now, you've treated your characters like delicate little flowers?
Poor, poor Jeff. I'm unsure whether I want Sloane or Henry to find Adrianna first. Sloane's pretty ruthless, but Henry's really going to want to prod buttock now... Well, whatever happens, I'm sure it'll break somebody's heart. Probably mine.

Date: 2015-12-16 02:35 am (UTC)Putting on my sleuthing hat now. It seems probable that Adrianna dealt with Jeff before she encountered Sloane in the last episode, since I doubt she would have ditched him and then gone back to take him out after she got Sloane. It's possible he ran into her as she was moving Sloane out of the hedge maze, but it just seems more likely that she would have attacked him first. Sloane didn't hear a gunshot, other than when Adrianna killed the other guy, so Jeff probably was stabbed. Not a good thing, I know, but given the two options, I'll take a stab wound.
We are coming to the showdown, two more episodes to go and I'm torn between anticipation and sadness that this will soon be over. If you ever consider your work for a TV series, Indexing would be perfect in my opinion. It's already in episodic format, and you've got two short seasons complete!
Oh, and "Because I am too short and my tits are too big and I will get personal." That made me giggle.

Date: 2015-12-16 08:44 am (UTC)Y'know, I'd probably be feeling sorry for what's likely to happen to Adrianna once Henry and Sloane get their hands on her, but she's done a really good job at deserving it. Poor Jeff. :(

Date: 2015-12-20 09:05 am (UTC)I bought Indexing:Reflections just a couple of days ago and then hit the argghhhh no more chapters point here , grrr! (until next installment, anyways).
So maybe this already came up when people were discussing Henry's trip into Sloane's life, but I am wondering if Sloane's true archetype is a Storyteller? it would explain many things that seem unique to Sloane: her ability to escape the story her sister's narrative tried to drive her into, her ability to sense narratives and when they change, her lack of aging. what does the Bureau really know about categorizing storytellers? if we've seen anything this season it's how much the Bureau doesnt know or understand.

Date: 2015-12-26 03:41 pm (UTC)The hedge maze was only in the film version of The Shining, not the book, so every time there was mention of the house's original owners being "fans of Stephen King books" I went "you haven't actually read The Shining, have you?"
The book had hedge animals, and they were doing the Weeping Angel thing.
Sorry, just had to get that off my chest.

Date: 2015-12-26 04:51 pm (UTC)I have read The Shining more than a dozen times. Sloane has not. Sloane, who was narrating in the first person, and is thus "the storyteller" for purposes of that installment, does not read books. She does see movies.
I am not my characters. My characters are not me. Before you assume that I got something wrong, you have to consider the character who's "speaking," and whether, for them, that is an inaccuracy. As far as Sloane is concerned, there's a hedge maze in The Shining, and why would there be any difference between the movies and the books?

Date: 2015-12-26 05:22 pm (UTC)Also, when I said "you haven't read The Shining," I'm referring to the characters, not you, the author. Sorry for the confusion. (I also think Henry said the same thing, which is why it stuck out to me)
I'm actually kind of hoping someone (read: Jeff) points this out at some point. He strikes me as the kind of guy who'd do that.

Date: 2015-12-26 05:28 pm (UTC)See, I'm a little touchy on this one, because King is absolutely my favorite author of all time, which means any errors (that aren't about Faithful, the only book of his I haven't read) are intentional. So I huff.
But yeah, the "you" read as directed to me, hence my bemusement. Henry, also not a reader; ironically, for all that she hates Disney, she assumes that all other movies-of-books are accurate. Jeff would totally point that out, if he ever heard about it. And if he lives.
