Today is a day for poetry.

My poem, "Post-Modern Cinderella," has been published in the summer issue of Goblin Fruit, along with many other lovely things, by many other lovely people. Cat is telling Persephone's story all over again (we are forever telling Persephone's story, apples and snow, pomegranates and winter, lilies on a grave), there is Coyote, and Apollo, and a beauty in a tower. You should go and read and be filled with fairy tales, because fairy tales exist to fill the hollow places.

And also and also and also: my darling Mia, of [livejournal.com profile] chimera_fancies, who has made me so many beautiful fairy tales to hang on ribbons 'round my neck, is selling little bits of Bordertown for you to take, and wear, and love. They're made from ARCs of Welcome to Bordertown, and they're amazing.

As with all Mia's pendants, each piece is unique, hand-made, and waiting for the right person to claim it. You should take a look; one of them may be singing for you, waiting for you to come and carry it away.

And that is the time, and that is the tide, and there are pomegranate ices in the garden. I'll see you soon.

Now me, I tell Orpheus and Eurydice. I don't know why. It's something about the stubbornness, and the hauntedness.

That delights me.

Bizarrely, I had already seen Cat's poem through another channel, and had seen Elizabeth McClellan refer to her next project as being about the Sea Witch, which made me think of you anyway, so it's fascinating that I never actually got back to the table of contents and saw you there.

Mazel tov on the publication. I really like the poem. Especially the sword.

hips rocked by the rhythm of foreign seas

Makes me shiver, in a good way.

I want ALL of these. *sigh* Maybe after the move, one of those will be my reward.

26 boxes of books and art supplies and still counting. I haven't even packed my journals or poetry notebooks yet, or any of Kent's notebooks. Good thing is, after that, there isn't much left other than cds, furniture and about a million geek or food service related tshirts.

Is it wrong that i'm trying to figure out how to make candy corn-infused vodka?

No.

It's only wrong if you learn and do not share.
