Words: 4,444.
Total words: 4,444.
Reason for stopping: I have finished chapter one.
Music: random shuffle. Lots of angry rock.
Lilly and Alice: flopped on the bed.

Well.

I just wrote an entire first chapter in one long sitting. Like, the whole thing. Beginning, middle, end. I'm just saying. That's a thing. Anyway, here we go again. I recommend hanging onto your seats, because it's going to be a bumpy-ass ride.

Rise up while you can.

And by the way. Thank you. Thank you for your wonderful stories that inspire me to improve my writing. Thank you for your beautiful stories with faeries the way I they are meant to be written.

You and Brandon Sanderson started posting updates on completing your corresponding stories at the same time on Twitter. I decided to race the two of you with my fourth draft. I lost, but I finished weeks, perhaps months, sooner than I would have. It was a fun race. :D

And, while it may not be a prime number, 4444 is cool too.

Feed was finally at my local Borders, face-out in the Sci Fi/Fantasy section, prominent. YAY!!!!

I'm halfway through. I love it, even though I don't normally do zombies. You are such a damned kick ass awesome writer, woman. :) And I don't say that to just anybody. Such an awesome page-turner! Such great plot development! Great characters! Great science, though of course I expected no less. ;) Can't get anything else done, damn you!!
*massive hugs*

I just finished reading Feed this morning and am in that flailing 'OMG, what a good book' space at the moment. In a perfect moment of timing I also got to put it into the entry I did on Books that EY People Read that our Dutch practice puts on their Library newsletter.

Roll on May 2011. I has me a couple of minor niggles but will probably put them in a (properly spoiler cut) post of my own.

Totally reasonable. And I think niggles are inevitable. Hell, at this remove, I have niggles, and I wrote it.

That's a lotta words! And if it's anything like the first chapter of the first book, it will rock.
