Pop quiz! Win an ARC!
Jun. 4th, 2009 09:31 am![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
I have had a battered and beaten ARC returned to me by my housemate (he read it, he enjoyed it, but these poor babies aren't meant to last forever). Since I can't exactly send it out to a review site, I've decided that it's POP QUIZ TIME! The first person to answer all twenty questions correctly will win the ARC. (If you already have one, you can still win, and tell me where it should be sent.) If no one has answered all twenty questions correctly by tonight, I will pick the person with the highest number of right answers. In case of a tie, it still goes to first.
People who have known me for more than ten years are respectfully asked not to play, as that just wouldn't be fair to the rest of the planet.
Game on!
***
1. According to this 1980s horror classic, Daddy would've gotten us something specific. What was the name of the movie, and what would Daddy have gotten us?
2. What, according to Nathan Fillion in Slither, was AWESOME? Who directed Slither? What does the director of Slither need to do?
3. What is the original source for the title Rosemary and Rue?
4. What are the full names of Seanan's cats?
5. What does Seanan claim to use to edit her books?
6. Where does the phrase "the Turtle couldn't help us" come from?
7. Is there anyone who appears on all three of Seanan's albums? Name them. (The people, not the albums.)
8. Okay, now you should name the albums.
9. Seanan has a tendency to listen to the same song over and over and over. What is the name of the song, who originally recorded it, and what album does it appear on?
10. Is that you, Johnny?
11. What was the lineup of The Junior Super Patriots, West Coast Division, during Velveteen's time on the team? Who was the first of that lineup to leave the team?
12. What was the name of the first anthology to publish Seanan's work?
13. What does Kate say Seanan is not allowed to have?
14. When Seanan says she's putting on her princess pants, what specific type of princess is she going off to be? (Note: there are two correct answers to this question, and either of them will be accepted.)
15. Seanan has a soda. What kind of soda does Seanan have?
16. What is the official publication date and publisher for Rosemary and Rue?
17. Name three of Seanan's protagonists.
18. Where, exactly, is that midnight train going?
19. Name the first three Toby books. For extra credit, name the second three Toby books.
20. Is cloning predatory dinosaurs and keeping them in a secure facility that doesn't have a backup security grid a good idea?

Date: 2009-06-04 06:03 pm (UTC)I probably won’t be the first, since I had to google most of the answers. But here goes:
According to Night of the Comet, “Daddy would’ve gotten us Uzis.”
When Kylie tells Bill, “You need both of them things in you to get all ‘wormy,’” he responds, “Oh, that’s awesome!” Slither was directed by James Gunn. James Gunn needs to call you.
Rosemary and Rue was orginally the name of a book by Martha Everts Holden.
Seanan’s cats are named Lillian Kane Moskowitz Munster Cavanaugh-Sawyer McGuire and Alice Price-Healy Little Liddel Abernathy McGuire.
Seanan claims that she edits her books with a machete.
The phrase “The turtle couldn’t help us” comes from It, by Stephen King.
Michelle Dockrey, Tony Fabris, Paul Kwinn, and Amy McNally appear on all three of Seanan’s albums.
The albums are Pretty Little Dead Girl, Stars Fall Home, and Red Roses and Dead Things.
Seanan has a tendency to listen to “Rain King” over and over. It was originally recorded by Counting Crows and appeared on the album August and Everything After.
It’s not Johnny.
The lineup of The Junior Super Patriots, West Coast Division, during Velveteen’s time on the team, was: Handheld, Swallowtail, The Bedbug, Super-Cool, The Nanny, Apex, and The Candy Sisters. IIRC, Velveteen herself was the first to leave the team.
Ravens in the Library was the first anthology to publish Seanan’s work.
Kate says Seanan is not allowed to have a lawn.
When Seanan says she’s putting on her princess pants, she’s going to be a Disney Halloweentown princess.
Seanan has a Diet Doctor Pepper.
Rosemary and Rue will be released on September 1, 2009. It is published by DAW.
Three of Seanan’s protagonists are October Daye, Clady Porter, and Verity Price.
That midnight train is going anywhere.
The first three Toby books are Rosemary and Rue, A Local Habitation, and An Artificial Night. The second three Toby books are Late Eclipses, The Brightest Fell, and Ashes of Honor.
Only if you have a very safe place from which to watch the ensuing “dinosaurs eat people” pandemonium.
Can I change my answer for number three?

Date: 2009-06-04 08:51 pm (UTC)2. "That"'s AWESOME, specifically that since Nathan Fillion's character didn't get pierced by both tentacles, he won't gestate the "wormy" things. James Gunn. He needs to call you.
3. From Shakespeare's A Winter's Tale.
4. Lillian Kane Moskowitz Munster McGuire, and Alice Price-Healy Little Liddel Abernathy McGuire
5. A machete, and sometimes a chainsaw.
