I "found" you through Feed in the Hugo voters pack. Which I am very grateful for.
(I had intended to read a couple of chapters of each book, then move on to the next. Then realised that I was over half-way through Feed. That won it my vote.)
I bought it, Blackout and Deadline, and started on your October Daye's series and the first inCryptid. (In paperback, since Amazon.co.uk only sold Toby's series as ebooks in German, for some strange reason.) They are equally wonderful. Then there's Velveteen vs. (which has just got heartbreaking) and I managed to excavate Rose Marshall's story from the remains of The Edge of Propinquity. (I'll be buying that when it's out as a real book too, and looking forward to the next volumes.)
Oh, and there's a couple of great CDs I've bought too.
Then your cover battle with Chuck Wendig intrigued me about his work. So there's another author whose work I'm enjoying.
Scalzi suggested that he would understand the pirating of Red Shirts, since its launch was being delayed in the UK. On the understanding that it would be bought when it was available.
That's the only circumstance I would ever consider pirating. Eventually the publishers, studios and broadcaters will provide a level playing field where everyone can pay just for what they want and not be denied because of geography, or a requirement to pay for channels that aren't wanted.
The technology is out there, it's just that it's the pirates who are developing and using it, not the companies who are selling.
