There is -- not surprisingly -- already a small but occasionally fascinating body of Disney Princess fanfic that looks decidedly sidewise at the "official" conventions of Disney Princessdom. I give as an example A Day in the Life Of - a light noir-ish take on the Princesses running a detective agency.

Those following the link should be advised that based on the story descriptions, a fair percentage of the material is NSFW and goes to Interesting Places with respect to pairings and such, but at least some of the stories do explore the potential for fun and exciting crossovers.
