The power of kittens compels you.

Buy Rosemary and Rue [Amazon]|[Mysterious Galaxies]. Because if you don't, you'll make the kitten cry. (Actually, you'll probably just make the kitten shed and play with feather toys. But that's beside the point.)

Still no love at Canadian booksellers. :( I need to go by the local all-SFF store and see if they can preorder it. (Business for local booksellers == victory.)

If I hadn't already pre-ordered my copy at the earliest possible instant it was available, this would make me want to order it :)

The kitten compels me. Must obey.

I have no credit cards of any kind, so I can't pre-order. Thus, I will be making an actual trip to an actual bookstore to pick up a copy. :-)

As a rule, I do as kittens tell me.

Does she already shed enough to knit a new one of her from?

Must... buy... Rosemary and Rue... o.o

Oh, exciting news! My husband and I have figured out that our new kitty is partially Siamese. She's got a similar head structure, though the constant talking is probably a better indicator of that.

...I now completely understand your love of the Siamese. Though the Maine Coon is adorably compelling. :3

I always do what the Kittens tell me ...

... so what's the most effective place and time to buy a copy, in terms of encouraging booksellers to order a stack of books from your publisher to display prominently?

Pre-order now or just before release or just after? Local independent, online store, brick and mortar chain?

[identity profile] droewyn.livejournal.com 2009-05-11 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not a fan of pre-ordering -- I'd rather have the funds come out of my checking account when I place the order instead of having to keep a little reminder notice in my ledger until the item actually ships, and then hope that I don't have any financial emergencies that week -- but Rosemary and Rue is on my list of books to buy as soon as they come out!

... has anyone told you that your kitten has Paws of Doom? Because she does.

I knew there was a reason I don't want a ARC! I might make the kitten cry!

Please thank Alice for me. I like knowing why I decide these things.
