Alice, devourer of worlds.

People ask periodically "so, just how big is your cat now?", like they think I exaggerate Alice's size for some insane reason. I mean, Maine Coon, guys, these are the cats they designed to star in SyFy Original Pictures.

I give you Alice, with a copy of Rosemary and Rue for scale, taken inside the last few weeks:

And she's still growing.

Happy Sunday!

So pretty! And with those orange eyes (and I think you mentioned there's orange in her coat), she was born to be your cat.

I am the proud human of a five year old Coonie called Bucky B Katt (yes from Get Fuzzy). Bucky weighs in at 24 pounds and is three times the size of his sisters (they're Burmese/Aby crosses)

I'm told Bucky is large for a Maine Coon 8-)

That is him in my icon 8-)

SYFY Movie Title
GigantaCat versus Piranha
Who will win in a showdown between Furious Felines and Ravenous Hunger from the Deep?

Everytime I see a Maine Coon I marvel out how fine their fur is. Is your cat a finicky eatter?

She really, really is.

[identity profile] seanan-mcguire.livejournal.com 2010-06-28 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
She is big girl.

[identity profile] seanan-mcguire.livejournal.com 2010-06-28 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you. :)

[identity profile] seanan-mcguire.livejournal.com 2010-06-28 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup. She's bigger every time I turn around.

[identity profile] seanan-mcguire.livejournal.com 2010-06-28 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Her toes are actually so fluffy that they put her at a disadvantage on our hardwood floors. It's funny.

[identity profile] seanan-mcguire.livejournal.com 2010-06-28 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
...there's my horrifying thought for the day. Thanks.

She's still growing!

Dude, whenever someone who hasn't visited in a month comes over, that's basically what they say first off.

[identity profile] seanan-mcguire.livejournal.com 2010-06-28 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Verra.

[identity profile] seanan-mcguire.livejournal.com 2010-06-28 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Awwwwwww.

[identity profile] seanan-mcguire.livejournal.com 2010-06-28 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
She's very tolerant of such desires.

[identity profile] seanan-mcguire.livejournal.com 2010-06-28 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
She's bigger, but Lilly's pointier, so it all balances out. Plus they never really beat on each other.

[identity profile] seanan-mcguire.livejournal.com 2010-06-28 02:59 pm (UTC)(link)
In that case, you have a beautiful cat.

[identity profile] a-mae-zing.livejournal.com 2010-06-28 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Aw, what a pretty kitty! :) Your posts always remind me that I need to get a Maine Coon, if only because of how fluffy/cuddly/intelligent/huge/amusing they are! ;)

... as opposed to my current cat, who's about half that size, full-grown, hilarious, cuddly, and rather thick.

You're very lucky. Our two girl kitties are at constant war with one another.

Giant kitten-niece is giant.

[identity profile] phoenixsansfyr.livejournal.com 2010-06-28 04:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's big for a Maine Coon. Our still-growing boy is about 16 pounds now, at 2.5, and will probably barely break 20 pounds. My queens are about 12, 13 pounds (one's fully grown and won't get any bigger, the other is 2.5 and has a little bit of growing still to do).

[identity profile] wendyzski.livejournal.com 2010-06-28 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I had a friend whose MC tipped the scales at 22 lbs and liked to lie on the sleeping bag when I stayed over, thus effectively pinning me to the ground.

[identity profile] stagemanager.livejournal.com 2010-06-28 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I must have one. I've mainly had only Siamese in the past.

There are days I am very glad my Maine Coon is an elder statesman of twelve, rather than the inquisitive youngster of two he was.

[identity profile] elfinecstasy.livejournal.com 2010-06-28 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
aw. she's gorgeous, really...
